Cultural Campfire is a time to gather around the fire and exchange knowledge and stories of indigenous history, culture and traditions. The campfire is open to all and held every first Friday of the month at 7:30 PM in the Native Plant Garden’s ceremonial space.
Bring a mat, blanket or camping chair to sit on the sandy area of the garden. We also invite you join us in potluck style and its zero waste, so please bring your own eating & drinking ware.
Nature Walks take the visitor around the 13 acre area covered with Southern California native flora every first Saturday of the month. We begin walks at 10a.m.
A description of the edible, medicinal and cultural use of the plants is included in the walk. A brief history of place also is given to contextualize the changes in the use of the land, beginning in the pre-contact period of the land. Olivia Chumacero speaks from an indigenous perspective about the land’s history, the fauna and flora.
